Free Wallpaper Design for September 2026
Itβs that time of the month again! Noβ¦not that time, you weirdo. The time when the calendar turns over once again to start a new month, and we all say βwhere did the time go?β At least I do. August went by in a flash with end-of-summer camping and school starting for my now second grader. Itβs hard to be nostalgic when things move so fast, yet I still somehow manage to get teary-eyed and sentimental. Last month work was busy too with launching a super fun landing page for a new childrenβs book called Salz & Peppa and a 5-page site for Korell Safe Harbor Therapy. PLUS I wrote my first blog in years about the bare minimum you need to build a website for a small business. Iβm now accepting pats on the back, thank you.
What's The Bare Minimum I Need To Build A Small Business Website?
So, you've started a business and now you need a website so people know you exist, but where do you start? If you're up against a deadline, DIYing, or just don't need much, here's the bare minimum I'd recommend to build a small business website.
Free Wallpaper Design for August 2026
Hello friends, family, and foes! Here we are already at the end of July, looking at each other and wondering where the summer went. Technically, there's more summer. But with a school-aged kid, my summer feels like it ends the second after the first day of school drop-off, and honestly, I'm not mad. I'm looking forward to getting back to our consistent routine. Surely a few people can relate? Business-wise, this summer has been somehow slower than usual but also busy. Last month I launched 3 websites including Joytown (branding by Reign Digital Design), Spatial Relations, and Korell Safe Harbor Therapy. Plus, I've got 3 more in the pipeline thatβll be launching in August or September. Phew! I totally slacked off sharing on social media this summer, too, but I'll try to get back in the swing of things soon to keep showing off my work.
10 Blog Post Ideas For Your New Website
Did you know that blogging is one of the best ways to improve your search engine rankings so youβll appear higher on Google? Everyone poo poos on blogging, but it could be the one thing that truly helps you get in front of more people. I get it, I get itβ¦you donβt think you have anything good to say that anyone would be interested in. Or you feel stupid talking on the internet when it feels like youβre just shouting into the void. But if even one person makes it to your blog, then itβs worth it if you ask me. So whenever youβre ready to pull up your big girl pants and share your expertise, here are 10 fresh ideas to help get you started on your new blog.
Free Wallpaper Design for July 2026
Coming in hot at the end of the day with this one!! Iβve been on my summer break last + this week, which means Iβve been taking some days off, traveling, spending quality time with people I love, and working on internal projects. But that also means the wallpaper design fell to the bottom of my to-do list right under βread my book on the patioβ and βtake another leisurely walkβ. So, I donβt have a whole lot to report at the moment since my brain is in la la land, but I promise Iβll be back next month with a work update and a new wallpaper next month (possibly even on time).
My Top Tips For Writing Web Content
Obviously in my opinion, your visual brand is what makes the very first impression on your website and hooks your audience. But once theyβve decided to stay and look a little closer, your content is whatβs going to keep them there. First off β what is website content? Your content is the meat of your site. Itβs all the writing that tells people about you + your business. Itβs the literal voice of your company, and it can be one of the hardest parts to nail down during the web design process. To help you get started on what can be a super daunting task, Iβve put together my top tips to help you write your website content and hopefully make the process a little less overwhelming.
Free Wallpaper Design for June 2026
Here we are in June and I have no idea what happened! Last month was slower for business, but chock full for me personally. I finished my physical therapy for the time being and am feeling pretty good (yay!). Now Iβm working on getting back to my full routine and staying on top of taking care of myself. But the majority of the month circled around school ending and my kiddo graduating to the big 2nd grade. If youβre a parent, you know this month fills up quickly with all the last minute events and tasks that you only find out about a day or two in advance. So, no new client launches to share β but Iβve got 3 in the pipeline that Iβm hoping to share in June!
Getting Started Freelancing
Every once in awhile an email floats into my inbox asking me about how to get started freelancing. βWhere do you get your clients from? How do you price your services? Whatβs the most important skill youβve learned?β All great questions and I love to answer them when I have the time. So, I thought Iβd put together some of my thoughts and give you my (possibly unsolicited) advice on getting started as a freelancer.
Free Wallpaper Design for May 2026
Welcome to May! It's been a gloomy + rainy week here in Denver to start the month off, but, boy, do we need the moisture (does that make me old to say??)! Now that we're a ways out of winter, time seems to be flying by at a quicker pace. After taking a bit of time off at the beginning of the year, I'm back to my full work load and launching more client work including the new brand + website for The Narrow Gate that I'm so so proud of. And I've got a few more in the pipeline that should be coming to fruition soon.
The 3 Must-Have Files You Need For Your New Logo
Let's get excited about file types! No really. It probably sounds pretty darn lame, but knowing which file type to use for your new logo + when can be super helpful if you want it to always looks its best. I like to make sure my clients have a variety of file types for their new logos so they can get the best use out of it. And in my experience, I've found these 3 types of files are an absolute must-have to get the best bang for your buck.
Free Wallpaper Design for April 2026
Happy happy April! That whole first quarter of 2026 just flew by. I've been taking a slower approach to work since the new year due to recovering from a car accident in January. But I'm starting to feel back to normal and officially back up to my regular workload! Even with a slower pace, I've been working behind the scenes on a few brand/website packages that are in the works, and I was able to launch a bomb new brand for Centera Strong so they can make their debut with a super strong impression. I also took some time last month to rework my service packages to include 3 tiers, meaning there's more flexibility to work with different needs + budgets. And last but not least, I made a bit more progress on my own website by publishing another portfolio entry for Kristen Arterburn.
7 Deadly Website Mistakes
Okay, maybe they're not exactly deadly. But these 7 common website mistakes can potentially make the difference between a visitor checking you out + taking action or peace-ing out because they don't connect with you. Keep reading below to find out what they are and correct them before you lose more customers.
Free Wallpaper Design for March 2026
Hello and welcome to March! Weβve officially entered that time of year where weβre all pretending itβs spring, even if the weather hasnβt fully committed yet. Although honestlyβ¦here in Denver, winter barely showed up this year and I didn't even have to bust out my snow boots. Though there's still time though knowing the wacky weather patterns here and the advice to never plant your garden before Mother's (or is it Father's?) Day. February was a good month at Six Leaf with the launch of a brand new visual identity for Embodied Art Boudoir that I'm so so proud of. The brand is feminine, cosmic, grounded, and luxurious all at once. I also started making slow progress on building out my new website portfolio with the entry for Blue Spruce Dental. It's such a strong example of how thoughtful branding + website can completely shift the feel of a business, and their patients (plus potential patients who just happen to be walk past their signs) have noticed!
How To Use Processes In Your Small Business
Just when I thought we were getting out of the hellacious year that 2021 was, my family was hit with Covid and over three weeks of isolation without childcare. Funny how when you run your own business and youβre the one doing nearly everything, itβs really hard to recover from that. Extending deadlines can feel like knocking down dominoes, and it took months to finally feeling like I was able to poke my head out again. But it made me think about how grateful I am to my past self for setting up templates + processes for almost everything in my business so I can partially go on auto pilot.
Free Wallpaper Design for February 2026
Hello and welcome to the shortest, but somehow still longest, month of the year! My January was supposed to be an easy month scheduled with lots of time off to recharge, but that blew up in my face when I was rear-ended by a truck while stopped at a red light :( I spent the majority of my time trying to stay sane while dealing with two insurance companies and fitting in more visits to the chiropractor than I ever have before in my life (which was zero, but still). Unfortunately, I did not get to the blog I intended to write about advice Iβd give my 10-years-younger-self, BUT I did manage to finally launch my new website and Iβm sooooooo proud of it! I gave Six Leaf Design a complete brand refresh with new colors + fonts and added tons of cutie illustrations. Poke around to see what Iβve been up to and let me know your favorite little detail!
How To Level Up Your Online Presence In Denver
Face to face in the real world, itβs fairly easy for people to get a feel for what itβd be like to work with you. But online, itβs harder to get the full picture of who you really are and what youβre like. And if you donβt have any presence online at all, it can be a red flag for someone who might not think youβre not a legitimate business because they Googled you, and the only thing that came up was your Xanga page from 7th grade (yiiiiiiikes!). So start here if youβre looking for a way to look more professional online, level up your online presence or maybe even just get started with the basics.

Happy happy new year!!! π Are we thriving or just surviving? Iβll give you one guess as to which Iβm doing after a week and a half of no school/childcare with a very energetic 6 year old who just happened to get the stomach bug on Christmas dayβ¦.Itβs been something, and thatβs all Iβll say about that! I also just celebrated my 29th 40th birthday a few days ago and itβs been a bit of a doozy for me. I canβt quite seem to wrap my head around it, but Iβm hoping to do another 10 things Iβd tell my 10-years younger self blog post (see the first one here) over the next few weeks to share some of my thoughts.

I loved hearing your great feedback so much that today I'm sharing 3 more online tools that I use on a regular basis to help run my business smoothly. Free Wallpaper Design for December 2025
Hello friends and happy December!! Winter seems like it came swooping in for real just this last week in Denver. And with that, plus finally busting out the holiday decorations, itβs beginning to look a lot like Christmas. As usual, itβs always a busy season for Six Leaf Design as Iβm trying to wrap up as much as possible before taking my winter break. Last month I launched a full brand foundations + website for The Wilder Practice, a brand refresh website for Powerhouse Coaching, and a new website for Juice Buzz. And Iβm hoping to launch 2 more brands + 1 more website that are in the pipeline before I close out the year phew
What Your Colors Are Saying About Your Brand
Believe it or not, colors are tied with a psychological and emotional response for us humans. When you put on a bold red lip for the day, youβre telling the world to watch out for your confidence. When you choose the bank with the blue logo, it makes you feel like your money will be well taken care of. When you look at the bright yellow flowers sprouting in your neighbors yard, you feel a sense of warmth and happiness because spring has arrived. Those are all examples of how color can say something without actually saying anything. So you can see how important it is to know exactly what the colors your choose for your business are saying about your brand.
