And if you’re reading these words, you’ve probably tried to hodge-podge together a brand or web design on your own. Leaving you with a whopping headache, a stack of inspirational quotes you’ve been obsessively rereading, and a grumbly promise to swear off business FORRR-EEE-VVVVERRRRR (#TheSandlot).

I've been around the design block a few times — going from college (where I figured out design was my jam, but only after earning enough credits to graduate) to internship (lots of Googling "how do I create a gradient in Photoshop? what is a call to action? where is the lasso tool?" etc.) to agency life (which had me learning as much as humanly possible about print/digital/web design and everything in between).

In 2013, I heard a Squarespace ad on Spotify and thought, “Hey, I could probably do that.” And I did! I built my own site, and before long, people started asking me to build theirs too. By 2016, I went all in on this thing called self-employment — and I haven’t looked back since.
