Katherine came to me last summer with the idea for AcuProsper, an online course that teaches business and marketing to acupuncturists. As an acupuncturist, Katherine loved bringing people to the world of holistic medicine who normally wouldn't be open to it, and with AcuProsper she wanted to bring the business world to acupuncturists. The logical place to start was with a professional and beautiful logo design. Our goal for the project was to elevate the course and make it feel more put-together so she could focus on teaching.
During our initial consultation we discussed how even
though the course teaches business, the logo shouldn’t feel too businessy, salesy or corporate because that wouldn’t appeal to her acupuncturist audience. Katherine wanted to focus on the "prosper" feeling and to covey growth and expansion. She also wanted to feel make it feel light, easy, relaxing and not stressful.
For the initial design concepts we decided to really hone in on those feelings with a sunburst and some hand-drawn elements to give it an inviting and friendly tone. The trick was to try to balance the friendly feeling with the business aspect of the course.
After the initial logo designs had been presented and reviewed, we decided to focus on the 2nd concept because it had the perfect balance of being professional and still being inviting. We went through one round of revisions to try out some different color and layout options before settling on the final design.
"I'm so glad I found Lindsey. I've wasted time and money on other designers who didn't seem to listen or just created generic designs for me. Lindsey really listened to what I wanted, what I was trying to communicate with my logo, and took into account colors and images I thought I wanted. She combined that with ideas of her own and came up with something I absolutely love, and better than I could have imagined. Thank you Lindsey!!"
